WRITTEN IN FRENCH
An emblematic figure of 20th century sculpture and the history of modernity, Constantin Brancusi (1876-1957) introduced abstraction into sculpture in order to achieve pure and perfect form, imbued with mysterious poetry. Installed in Paris in 1904, he produced the vast majority of his work in France, and bequeathed to the French State, by will, his entire workshop [reconstituted on the Piazza Center Pompidou]. The exhibition returns to the diversity of his work and the different themes that compose it, while showing the creative process of a unique and pioneering sculptor.
Beaux Arts Éditions will report on a unique work that makes Brancusi one of the inventors of modern sculpture. To understand the importance of the themes and their variations in the work, the relationships that the sculptures have with each other - as well as with the drawings and photography. A unique dive into the work of an essential artist!
Exhibition at the Center Pompidou, from March 27 to July 1 , 2024
